All about Moss
Moss is a simple plant that typically looks like a velvety green carpet. Instead of true roots, moss has shallow root-like structures that don’t need soil to grow.
This means that moss can attach itself to just about any outdoor surface; all it needs are sunlight and water.
Moss releases spores that blow through the air, spreading the growth to everywhere the wind blows. Moss’s root-like structures can cause pitting on many surfaces, such as brick, concrete, wood, and roof shingles. Moss can also grow underneath shingles and cause them to lift up and separate from the roof.
When moss gets out of control, it can cause an ugly, slippery, damaging mess.
How Wet & Forget Outdoor Beats Moss
Wet & Forget Outdoor’s gentle formula kills moss without damaging your outdoor surfaces. Harsh chemicals such as bleach can damage or discolor some surfaces, and pressure washing can lift shingles from your roof if you’re not careful.
With Wet & Forget Outdoor, all you have to do is spray the moss growth using a basic pump-up garden sprayer, and then walk away. Wet & Forget Outdoor works hard, so you don’t have to.
How to Apply Wet & Forget Outdoor
- For medium size surfaces (patio, sidewalk, etc.) mix a solution of 1 part Wet & Forget Outdoor Concentrate and 5 parts water in a pump-up garden sprayer. For high elevations, connect the Wet & Forget Xtreme Reach™ Hose End product to your garden hose and attach the jet setting hose-end tip.
- Spray the affected area with the Wet & Forget solution at a time that allows 4 to 5 hours of drying time before the chance of rain. Be sure to soak the moss thoroughly, to allow the solution to penetrate to the bottom of the growth.
- Walk away, and let Wet & Forget Outdoor do the work for you. The moss will die and lift away from the surface.
- If necessary, gently brush away the dead moss.
