Wet & Forget Great Backyard Giveaway: Hot Off the Grill and Straight from the Blender!
Each Friday during the Wet & Forget Great Backyard Giveaway we’ll be sharing our favorite summer grilling and drink recipes. Enjoy!
- DRINK OF THE WEEK
Pineapple Love
Requires: Pineapples, Air-tight jar, Vodka
Step 1: Go to your favorite grocery store and purchase a bunch of pineapples, preferably soft and ripe. The quantity of pineapples will vary depending on the size of your air-tight jar.
Step 2: Purchase your Favorite Vodka (Adam prefers a straight Vodka no flavor). Again, the amount of vodka will be determined by the size of your jar.
Step 3: Cut your pineapple into bricks and stack them in your jar around the edges, making sure that the middle is left open.
Step 4: Fill the jar with your favorite vodka making sure the pineapple is completely covered.
Step 5: Place the jar with pineapple and vodka in a cool dark place for 10 days. Don’t cheat yourself and try it too early and don’t let it go over 10 days.
Step 6: On the 10th day strain the vodka through a mesh strainer and store in the fridge until you are ready to drink.
Step 7: When you are ready to serve, fill a shaker with ice and pour in your newly created Pineapple Love. Shake for a few minutes and then pour into a martini glass. Serve with a wedge of pineapple. Pineapple Love can also be put in the blender and served as a frozen drink!
Pineapple Love will last about 2 weeks in the fridge. This is straight Vodka, we know it tastes great, but please drink responsibly. It will creep up on you very quickly!

- FROM THE GRILL
Chicken Teriyaki Sandwich
Requires: Chicken breasts, Freezer bag, Teriyaki sauce, Pineapple juice, munster cheese
Step 1: You’ll need 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts. Wash them and put them in a large freezer size bag with the following:
1-1/2 cups of teriyaki sauce
1/4 c. of pineapple juice
2 t. of salt
Step 2: Let this sit in the fridge for 8 hours.
Step 3: Pull chicken out of bag and throw away leftover marinade and bag. Place chicken on the grill and cook each side of the chicken for 7-9 minutes each or untill an internal temperature of 165*F is reached.
Step 4: Next, put 4 pineapple rings on the grill and cook on each side for about 2 minutes or until you see grill marks and a little browning.
Step 5: Then place the pineapple rings on the chicken and cover them both with muenster cheese. Let the cheese melt until it gets a light brown around the edges. Then remove from the grill.
Step 6: Lightly toast your favorite buns or rolls on the grill.
Step 7: Place the chicken teriyaki on the bun, add lettuce, a little mayo and enjoy!
In the summer a side of fruit goes well with this grilled sandwich!
