Wet & Forget Outdoor Takes Your Porch from Gross to Gorgeous

You look forward to spending quality time relaxing on your porch, enjoying a good book or stimulating conversation. But if ugly moss, algae, lichen, or mold and mildew invade with porch stains, they can turn it from an oasis to an eyesore.

If your porch has fallen victim to these disgusting stains, you’ve probably been putting off dealing with the problem, dreading the laborious scrubbing, bleaching or pressure washing involved. There’s no need to procrastinate!

Let Wet & Forget Outdoor do the work for you, and take your porch from gross to gorgeous. Rescuing your porch couldn’t be easier–read on to find out how.

Porch Stains: The Guilty Parties

pool-mildew
No matter what type of porch you have, it can fall victim to ugly outdoor growths.

Moss can grow on just about any outdoor surface, and its root-like structures can worsen any damage to your porch’s surface and encourage cracking and crumbling. Most porches are shaded areas, which make them ideal places for green algae or mold and mildew to grow; these growths ruin your porch’s appearance and can make it dangerously slippery.

Scaly lichen can grow on any type of porch, and black algae cause unsightly soot-like stains, especially on concrete. All of these growths make it hard to enjoy your porch and can drive you back indoors.

How Wet & Forget Outdoor Solves those Stains

If you’ve tried bleach or pressure washing to clean your porch, you’ve probably found yourself repeating the process over and over. That’s because neither of these methods prevents re-growth, meaning that moss, algae, lichen, or mold and mildew can start growing again almost from the moment you finish cleaning.

To make matters worse, bleach can kill your lawn, irritate your skin and bleach your clothes, and one wrong move with a pressure washer can cause more harm than good.

Wet & Forget Outdoor works with the wind and rain to gently remove porch stains over time. Its non-caustic formula won’t damage your porch or kill your lawn. Best of all, Wet & Forget Outdoor keeps working, preventing re-growth for up to a year or more in most cases.

You have better things to do than cleaning your porch time after time! Cleaning your porch with Wet & Forget Outdoor is also much easier than bleaching, scrubbing or pressure washing.

How to Apply Wet & Forget Outdoor

Cleaning your porch with Wet & Forget Outdoor couldn’t be easier.

Here’s how:

  1. Mix 1 part Wet & Forget Outdoor with 5 parts water in a pump-up garden sprayer.
  2. Spray your porch with the diluted Wet & Forget Outdoor at a time that allows 4 to 5 hours of drying time before the threat of rain.
  3. Relax, and let Wet & Forget Outdoor do the work for you.
  4. Re-treat once a year, or at the first sign of re-growth.

My father has property in the national forest, with trees towering 100′ tall around his yard. Our swimming pool concrete decking is shaded by the poolhouse on one side, and trees around another. We always battled mold and algae buildup on the concrete. Early this spring we powerwashed the worst of the algae off of the decking, and the next day applied Wet it and Forget it. Despite the wettest summer we’ve ever had, there has been NO regrowth of algae or mold; even under our iron flower pots. I would recommend this product to ANYONE! I’ve bought it to use on my composite deck, and can’t wait to see the results!

      Hi Jim,

Wet & Forget works great on marine wood decking on docks. Wet & Forget is an EPA registered product so you do want to make sure you’re at least 100 feet away from all lakes, ponds, rivers, and streams. For best results apply to a dry surface and completely saturate the decking. Leave it to dry and that’s it. Each time it rains the Wet & Forget will be reactivated to gently breakup the growth and remove it. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Can you spray Wet&Forget on trees? I have some trees that are being strangled by moss. Thanks!

      Hi Julie,

You can spray the moss on your trees with Wet & Forget but only if the trees are in a dormant state. Thanks for commenting.

      Hi Ginny,

1 Gallon of Wet & Forget concentrate will cover 750 to 2200sqft, depending on how porous the surface is that you’re applying to. If you’re applying to a concrete surface with moss and lichen you’ll definitely use much more solution than on a painted wooden surface.
