Moving? Let Wet & Forget Lend a Helping Hand

Moving can require a lot of mental and physical strength. Before posting photos of your home, prep your home with these quick fixes while packing and moving.

Save your energy for packing and moving each box. Don’t waste energy on power washing or scrubbing. Check out how Wet & Forget products can help you prepare your home for moving and being listed on the market.

How can I improve and edit my home’s curb appeal?

Make sure your home leaves a great first impression when potential home buyers first see your home. Here are some ideas to edit and spruce up your home’s curb appeal.

The lawn-

Since the yard is a large home area, ensure it stays healthy and green before moving. Be sure to water and mow your grass weekly. Eliminate any common weeds when you see them moving in.

If you live in an area where maintaining a green lawn is difficult, consider alternatives. Alternatives include artificial turf or adding a rock garden as they are much easier to maintain in drier climates.

Flowers & shrubbery-

Add flowers to add bursts of color to your home. Whether it’s flowerpots or hangers, these small details can help to sell a home. Be sure to take care of these flowers and shrubbery, so potential buyers are not greeted with wilting flowers and untrimmed shrubs.

Water and fertile flowers routinely. Prune shrubbery as dead or diseased stems can be unappealing and attract insects.

Outdoor textures-

Add outdoor furniture and textiles to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere while moving. Having furniture on a porch will help buyers envision how that space can be utilized. Throw some outdoor pillows on top to move the indoors outside.

Another way to create a homey environment is a doormat. Buy a simple yet inviting doormat to welcome the potential buyer to their new home.

Door color-

Make your home stand out from the rest of the neighborhood by painting or replacing your front door. Make sure it stands out when you see it, whether it’s a new coat of paint or a new door.

The house with the red door will stand out more than a house with a neutral-colored door. Aside from the great landscaping, make your home memorable to anyone potentially moving in with a beautiful front door.

Polishing hardware-

When people say it’s the small things in life, it is about the small things in life. So, pay close attention to giving your home’s hardware service while moving. Hardware on a home can truly help tie everything together.

Get contrasting hardware to make the small details pop- like a black doorknob on a white door. If replacing hardware is not on your agenda, polish up your existing hardware to make them look as new as possible. Move all the old hardware into a box before packing into storage.

How do I make my home look more photogenic?

Making sure your home has service and is ready to list before moving can be stressful, and people often overlook the little details, such as cleaning up your walkway or siding. If you plan on uploading photos of your home online, make sure the buyers are focusing on the highlights of your home and not the green and black stains on the outside of your home.

Outside-

Aside from the various curb appeal projects you can do, don’t forget to service your house as a whole. Be sure that the roof and siding have gotten service and are also clean and updated.

If the moss, mold, or algae you see are lingering, consider using the Wet & Forget Xtreme Reach™ Hose End to clear the organic growth up for you. Attach your garden hose, turn the black dial on the bottle to “ON,” and spray down the affected surfaces.

For more precise applications around your home affected by green or black stains, use the Wet & Forget Concentrate. This is perfect for covering walkways, retaining walls, decorative yard features, and outdoor furniture before a move.

If you can see moss, mold, or algae on the front walkway, be sure to get them cleaned up before moving. Although flowers and shrubs may help the cosmetics of your home when planning to move, make sure to get the foundation of your home just as pretty (and stain-free).

Inside-

Get the inside of your home looking as nice, clean, and moving ready as the outside. To limit the opportunity for mold and mildew growth, reduce the humidity levels inside your home. Invest in a dehumidifier to reduce moisture levels in the basement of your home.

Another way is to turn the bathroom vent fan on when you’re showering. This helps to draw out the moisture and reduce the chances of the humidity lingering too long.

If mold and mildew appear, eliminate them using Wet & Forget Indoor Disinfectant Cleaner.

To clean up any soap scum, grime, mold, and mildew stains, use the Wet & Forget Weekly Shower cleaner weekly to keep your shower shining. It will clean up stubborn soap scum buildup without any scrubbing, so it was like before anyone could move in there!

Be sure to clean your tub and shower before posting any photos.

If your basement walls are speckled with mold and mildew growth, spray the Wet & Forget Indoor Disinfectant Cleaner on the affected area and allow the surface to air dry or wipe with a clean cloth or sponge 10 minutes after treatment. This product cleans up mold and mildew, inhibits the regrowth, and deodorizes and disinfects.

With your quick application of Wet & Forget Indoor, you’re also destroying those musty mold odors at the source, not just masking them. So, start packing the rest of your cleaning products into a box because this is the one you want to get your basement ready for showings.

At Wet & Forget, we understand how stressful packing and moving can be. So, let Wet & Forget lend a hand in making your big move stress and hassle-free. Go back to packing each box into storage and let Wet & Forget do the cleaning for you.
