Use different colored or patterned paper to suit the event’s theme if you feel extra creative. Follow this simple DIY tutorial, and you’ll have your drink umbrellas in no time.
Supplies:
- Sturdy paper or card stock
- Toothpicks
- Tape
- Scissors
Directions:
- Use the bottom of a glass to trace a circle onto your paper.
- Cut out the circle and fold it in half.
- Unfold it, and fold it in half to create a perpendicular crease.
- Unfold again and make another diagonal crease to the first cross. Repeat these steps until you have eight creases.
- Cut out small almond shapes between each crease on the edges of the circle to create a scalloped effect.
- Cut a slit down the edge of one of the creases all the way to the center of the circle.
- Take the two edges and make them overlap to create an umbrella shape. Add a small piece of tape beneath the overlap to keep both sides in place.
- Poke a toothpick through the top of the umbrella, and it’s ready to add a simple and easy touch to your lemonade!
