Wet & Forget FAQ

Wet & Forget is the ultimate outdoor moss, mold, mildew and algae stain remover. Just apply Wet & Forget to any exterior surface and forget about it.

Mother Nature does the rest. The wind and rain gently clean the surface.

  • How long will Wet & Forget take to work?

It depends on the intensity of the contamination. If it is really light you will see results within days. Otherwise, it may take 2-3 months to see improvement.

Your concrete may turn reddish brown when Wet & Forget is applied. This is normal and shows you have a good reaction. The discoloration will dissipate over a short period of time and is not permanent.

The good news is when you use Wet & Forget the following season the cleanup will occur within weeks. In the very worst case scenario, where contamination is extreme, it may take 6-12 months to work.

  • When is the best time to apply Wet & Forget?

Apply Wet & Forget on a cool, dry, windless day, when no rain is expected for 4-5 hours. Often the evening or early morning is the best time to apply; when evaporation is minimal.

This way, the treated surface stays wet with Wet & Forget for an extended period of time. If no cooler days are in the forecast, keep the surfaces wet longer to ensure that the surface was fully saturated.

  • How long can Wet & Forget be stored?

Wet & Forget has an unlimited shelf life. It is non-caustic and non-acidic.

Wet & Forget can be stored in the original bottle as a concentrate or as a dilution in your garden sprayer. The product will not deteriorate after being diluted.

Always keep the cap tightly fastened and the product out of the reach of children.

  • Will Wet & Forget affect my pets?

Not under normal circumstances. However, after application, keep your pets off the surface until it is dry to ensure they do not ingest any of the Wet & Forget.

If they accidentally touch the product, rinse the affected area with fresh water as a precaution.

  •  Will Wet & Forget damage my plants?

Only if Wet & Forget is sprayed directly onto a plant. Protect plants from over spray by rinsing with water before and after application or covering them during application.

  • Will Wet & Forget remove the contamination from my decks?

Most definitely! It will clean any type of decking.

If your deck is older and black with contamination, wait a month after applying Wet & Forget and then give the area a light brush with a scrub brush and warm water. You will need to reapply Wet & Forget after this scrub but the good news is you should only have to do this once and then the maintenance becomes easy.

      Hi Michael,
Wet & Forget will not harm your copper gutters and downspouts. After the product has fully dried, you do not need to worry about pets being on or near the surface. The product is no longer active so you also do not need to worry about rain and the runoff from surfaces that were applied to.

Hi Jerry, Wet & Forget is perfectly fine to use on trex decks as well as any other type of deck to remove mold stains. For best results you want to apply a good heavy amount of Wet & Forget and leave it. Allow the wind and the rains to clean the deck for you over time, that’s it!

I need to remove mildew from outdoor untreated locust. Is this product safe to use on untreated wood? Some of the locust is under the eaves and not exposed to rain. Will it work in this kind of location?

      Hi Rod,
Wet & Forget is safe to use on untreated wood. For the areas under the eaves, we would recommend applying our product to the surface then going back a week later and rinsing the surface with water from a hose on a jet setting. We would also recommend repeating this rinsing process periodically to remove the dead growth from the surface.
