Rain is crucial in many ways, including sustaining life, enabling frolicking, and of course, working with Wet & Forget. The reason Wet & Forget Outdoor can only be used on outdoor surfaces is because it needs to interact with wind and rain to do its job. But what happens if you have a mossy and moldy outdoor surface that’s not exposed to the outdoor elements, such as a porch ceiling or a covered deck? Here’s an inquiry we received recently that asks just that question.
Q: Can I simulate rainfall on my covered porch or deck, perhaps by collecting rain water and dousing it?
A: In order to use Wet & Forget in an area that is not exposed directly to rainfall, you would need to be able to spray down the area with water about every week to week-and-a-half, starting one week after application. This will simulate natural rainfall. You will need to continue doing this until the mold and mildew is gone. Wet & Forget is specifically formulated for, and works best on, outdoor surfaces exposed to the elements such as wind and rain. That is why additional assistance is needed on covered outdoor surface
